About Abraxas I – Marienville
Abraxas I in Marienville, Pennsylvania is a residential substance use disorder treatment facility for delinquent or dependent males and females. They offer an intensive drug and alcohol treatment program and an intensive open residential program.
Boys and girls will have separate intensive drug and alcohol treatment to better address their specific needs. The girl’s program will focus on healing addiction through enhancing self esteem and body image and building positive relationships.
The boy’s program will focus on topics such as conflict resolution, social skills training and anger management. Both programs will utilize individual and group counseling and provide trauma-informed care. Counselors will explore the underlying reasons why your loved one developed an addiction and teach them coping skills to avoid relapsing.
One thing I really like about this facility is that they provide career and technical education to help young clients be prepared for future employment. Some programs of study offered at this location include a CNA program and a Building Trades program.
Abraxas I also works in partnership with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to provide Clients work experience opportunities. Getting clients prepared for employment will help them get on the path of creating a positive quality of life that doesn’t involve using substances.
While youth clients are at the facility, they’ll be able to continue their education at the on site private school. Students will have the opportunity to earn a high school diploma and also enroll in online college courses. Additional services available are SAT instruction and testing and daily tutoring.
Abraxas I is not far from the Allegheny National Forest. It’s a great area for you and your loved one to do sober activities such as camping and hiking.
