About Addiction Center of Broome County – Outpatient – Binghamton
The Addiction Center of Broome County – Outpatient provides substance use and mental health treatment for children, adolescents and adults in Binghamton, New York. Your recovery starts with a thorough assessment to determine your plan of care.
Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available to help stabilize guests with opioid or alcohol addiction. They offer naltrexone, Vivitrol, Suboxone and Subutex. Your history and physical exam will help the medical staff decide which medicine is best for your needs.
They provide an outpatient rehabilitation program that involves longer, more intensive treatment than general outpatient care. You’ll have recovery goals to meet throughout treatment. The program is three to five days each week, and treatment sessions last up to four hours. You’ll have breakfast for nutrition and social interaction. Gender specific and trauma specific groups are available for a more customized approach. Since many people with addiction have past trauma, they have multiple trauma specific treatment interventions to address these issues.
They also offer general and intensive outpatient programming. The intensive outpatient program (IOP) meets three to four times each week, with each session lasting three hours. The duration of treatment is six weeks.
Aftercare is available to continue recovery assistance. This service includes approximately 16 to 32 sessions. They also offer aftercare for those with co-occurring conditions.
There are focus groups with specific topics and relapse prevention groups to provide techniques for avoiding places and people that cause the temptation to use substances. Family treatment can help those affected by your addiction and address codependency problems to help you move forward in a sober lifestyle.
Certified recovery peer advocates are there to support your journey and well-being from the angle of someone who has also been in recovery. They can help with your treatment plan, connect you with other support services and coordinate care for the most comprehensive treatment.
