About Alano Club – Santa Barbara
Alano Club is a nonprofit organization in Santa Barbara, California. They offer support group meetings for individuals dealing with substance abuse challenges. They follow the 12 Step model of recovery.
Alano Club organizations serve their communities through peer-led support meetings, with 35 meetings happening each week in Santa Barbara alone. Clients can attend meetings as they please, where they can learn from and support one another through their lived experiences. Clients should note that these are not medical services.
The 12 Steps are a method of helping individuals understand and navigate sobriety and develop key life skills. Clients receive the support of others in recovery as they work through acceptance, personal responsibility, relapse prevention, self compassion, forgiveness, and spirituality to support long term recovery.
Alano Clubs do not accept members’ insurance or require payment to participate. However, clients may also be interested in professional treatment through other programs, which may be covered by major insurance plans like Humana, Beacon, BlueCross BlueShield, Anthem, and Aetna. Clients should always confirm their coverage before enrolling in such treatment plans, as out of network benefits may vary.
