This community organization has provided essential health and social services for underserved residents of southeastern New Mexico since 1993. While they don’t offer substance abuse treatment you can access harm reduction services and addiction treatment referrals along with other social assistance to start or continue your journey.
What started as an HIV resource center became a diverse program serving many needs. Their harm reduction services include syringe exchange programs and substance use disorder assistance as well as overdose prevention education. For me their Narcan training really caught my eye. Narcan is a medicine that rapidly reverses opioid overdoses. You’ll learn how to recognize an overdose and the steps to take to administer Narcan efficiently. They even offer free Narcan after your training.
