About ASAC – Area Substance Abuse Council – Belle Plaine
Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) provides accessible, comprehensive substance abuse treatment and prevention services for individuals, families and communities in East Central Iowa. Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) is located in Belle Plaine, Iowa.
The prevention services focused on individuals and families include: Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) and Cannabis Screening and Intervention for College Students (CASICS), Alternative Choices for Teens (ACT), and the Under 18 Drinking Driver Course (OWI).
The prevention services within a number of area schools are: Curriculum Based Support Groups (CBSG), and youth advocacy groups like the Take Charge Challenge and Take Charge Conference.
The purpose of the Access to Recovery (ATR) is to help patients overcome barriers to their recovery. Services offered include: child care, employment/financial counseling, family education, family therapy, housing assistance, individual therapy, Native American healing, recovery peer coaching, sober living activities, supplemental needs, and transportation.
