Bayshore Counseling Services serves the Erie and Ottawa counties of Ohio. They are located in Port Clinton, Ohio, along the shores of Lake Erie. The city is known as the “Walleye Capital of the World” and the gateway to the Lake Erie Islands. They provide prevention, mental health, and recovery services to support a healthy community. This includes interventions, chemical dependency treatment, prevention, and services for adults, adolescents, children, and their families.
Their outpatient programs include a variety of psychotherapy treatments including trauma focused care, cognitive behavioral therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Their counseling services provide a range of outpatient care for drug and alcohol addiction provided by qualified chemical dependency counselors and therapists. You begin with an initial diagnostic assessment which leads to a comprehensive and customized treatment plan.
Your program is based on the Stages of Change model and can include individual and group therapy sessions as well as medication services if they are appropriate for your condition. They work closely with the Ottawa and Erie County’s court system providing treatment for those involved in several of the court system programs, such as the adult drug court, mental health court, and Veteran court.
In addition to drug and alcohol addiction treatments, they also provide an 8-week anger management program that includes psychoeducation and treatment to learn healthier coping strategies and communication skills. They are certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and provide a 24-hour crisis support hotline. Their addiction treatment also includes help for compulsive gambling in teens and young adults.
