The Niles, Michigan, Berrien County Health Department offers healthcare services and social support services to children, adults and families who need supportive care. Through the Berrien County Health Department, you’ll have access to different behavioral health services, including treatment for a mental health struggle or substance abuse disorder you might be working through.

One such program is the Berrien County Jail Medication Assisted Treatment Program. This program helps support justice involved individuals who have an opioid use dependency. Through intervention, treatment and relapse prevention support, incarcerated individuals are empowered to make healthier life choices as they reintegrate back into society.
Through the Berrien County Health Department, you can get connected to the Riverwood Center, which is located in nearby Benton Harbor. Supportive counseling including services in Spanish, braille, and sign language are available here.
There’s also an engagement center called Carol’s Hope. Open to anyone 18 years and older, they offer supportive care to help you work through your substance abuse struggles.
The Berrien County Health Department can also help you learn about and apply for social services including the Women’s, Infants, and Children’s Program (WIC). You’ll also be able to stay on top of immunizations for yourself and your family so that you can live the healthiest lives possible. There are also services for individuals who are HIV positive.
