BestSelf Behavioral Health’s Lower West Side Counseling is found in Buffalo, New York. They used to be known as Lake Shore before they merged in 2017. They’re a comprehensive outpatient treatment center for any New York Resident struggling with mental health challenges or substance abuse. The biggest focus that Lake Shore Behavioral Health specializes in is dual diagnosis for co-occurring disorders. This option focuses equally on mental health and addiction recovery support.
Lake Shore Behavioral Health provides access to counseling care for all New York residents. They don’t let language barriers stop them from providing access to care for anyone seeking addiction help. While the majority of the services provided are in English, Lake Shore has Arabic and Spanish services available. They also coordinate care with Delaware-Summer Adult Clinic.
Lake Shore only provides outpatient programs, but this setup allows individuals to easily balance daily responsibilities and recovery. It’s effective for those who want to start working towards overcoming their addictions, but can’t leave behind the responsibilities of family and work.
Lake Shore offers both individual and group counseling options. Plus, they have groups for LGBTQIA+ and even a group problem for the elderly who are looking to start recovery. Most of their counseling services are focused around trauma and the staff at Lake Shore utilized dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to work through any trauma.
But, there’s so much more they offer to those seeking help. They also provide targeted case management services, which will give New York residents access to social services during their recovery. They also have harm reduction classes to prevent overdoses and DWI classes for those under court orders.
On top of that, Lake Shore Behavioral Health currently accepts Empire BlueCross BlueShield, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, MVP Health Care and Fidelis Care.
