The Brainerd Mental Health Urgent Care Clinic, operated by Northern Pines Mental Health Center, provides substance use recovery services to individuals in Brainerd, Minnesota. The outpatient programs provide treatment for adults, adolescents and individuals with co occurring disorders.
Northern Pines Mental Health Center recognizes that it’s common for mental health disorders to occur alongside substance use disorder. In the adult and adolescent outpatient programs, the staff will focus on treating individuals for both mental health and substance use disorder. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy will teach you to change false beliefs contributing to these conditions and develop healthy coping strategies.
Having a positive support system is a necessary part of your recovery. Through family education days, your family can learn how to best support you in your healing from addiction. These events are offered every six weeks during the time you’re in the outpatient treatment program.
The facility will primarily utilize individual and group counseling to help you overcome addiction. Group counseling will provide you support and encouragement from peers who are also working on their recovery. It also gives you a chance to practice communication skills that will be useful for maintaining your sobriety outside of treatment sessions.
In individual counseling, your counselor can guide you towards treatment goals that suit your needs and help you to achieve them. You’ll also learn more about what caused your addiction and develop relapse prevention strategies.
In between your treatment sessions, one place you can go to support your sobriety is Northland Arboretum. You can walk through 540 acres of trails and enjoy the relaxing sight of numerous gardens.
