About Brynn Marr Hospital – Jacksonville
Brynn Marr Hospital is a mental health facility in Jacksonville, North Carolina. They offer short-term inpatient care for people who struggle with acute mental health conditions, substance use disorders (SUD), or both. They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
Substance abuse treatment is offered to adults on a coed basis. They treat children and teens for mental health issues but not specifically for SUD.
This facility accepts patients who enter voluntarily and those who are there by order of the court. Most people are in the facility for 7 to 10 days, but it varies by individual.
You will meet with every member of your treatment team when you first enter. The team includes a doctor, registered nurse, mental health workers, and recreational therapist. You will also be assigned an acute clinician too who will make a master treatment plan for you and lead group sessions.
You will have psychoeducational sessions where you will learn about your mental health and about the effects of drugs and alcohol on your body. During these sessions you’ll learn coping mechanisms to help ease your mind in stressful situations so you’re not as drawn toward drugs and alcohol. You will participate in recreational therapy too where you may play sports or board games.
