About Buffalo Psychiatric Center – Buffalo
You’ll find the Buffalo Psychiatric Center in the city of Buffalo in New York. This is a behavioral healthcare facility that provides a continuum of services to adults experiencing struggles with their mental health or who have a coexisting substance abuse disorder.
At the main campus, you’ll be supported through inpatient, residential, and outpatient care. You can get referred to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center through several avenues, including through social agencies and mental health care providers, among others.
Medicaid and Medicare are accepted here. There are also financial aid services available if you qualify.
Both the inpatient and residential treatment programs operate out of the Strozzi Building, which is located on the main campus. This building is designed to provide care at a large scale, and there is currently the capacity to provide care to 188 clients across eight different units within the whole psychiatric center.
Despite operating out of a traditional clinical facility, you’ll find a number of activities that will make your stay here comfortable and positive.
There are several recreational activities you can enjoy here, including participating in fitness programs, art therapy, and music therapy.
Other helpful amenities include a Wellness Center and what they call a Center for Self Discovery that’s peer run.
These two centers really help you focus on your health, wellness, and overall goals you might have in place for yourself.
One of the most impactful programs under their outpatient services is their Assertive Community Treatment program. This program focuses specifically on helping you rebuild the skills you need to lead an independent and active lifestyle.
Some of the ways you’ll be supported through this program include medication management, access to vocational and educational assistance, housing support, linkage to healthcare and other community services, and a host of other supports.
