Center for Discovery Tampa is an outpatient treatment facility. They treat individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring substance abuse or mental health challenges. They provide partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) programs for children, adolescents, and adults, ages 10 and up. You’ll find ’em out in Tampa, Florida.

The partial hospitalization program includes individual, group, and family counseling, medication management, meal supervision, and nutritional counseling. Patients receive the benefits of residential care, but they get to go home to practice their skills for their transition to outside life.

Adults and adolescents receive treatments in separate programs overseen by a team of dietitians, psychiatrists, and therapists who treat the underlying issues causing the eating and substance use disorders. This is just as they would in a regular drug rehab.

Outpatient treatment approaches include individual and group therapy, cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and exposure and response prevention. Clients learn relapse prevention techniques, life skills, as well as positive coping mechanisms.
