Cherokee Health Systems

The Clinton, Tennessee, location of the nonprofit Cherokee Health Systems is a behavioral healthcare and substance abuse clinic. General outpatient programs (OP) and medication assisted treatment (MAT) are available to clients of all ages. The Clinton office also offers primary care.

General OP is also known as day treatment. This level of care allows clients to continue living at home, working, attending school, and continuing other responsibilities while making regular appointments at the clinic for treatment. Services offered include psychotherapy (individual, group, and family), peer support, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), medication management services, and psychiatric care.

Children can receive school based therapy. That way, they won’t miss out on any classes or fall behind their schoolmates.
MAT incorporates medication into OP to help treat substance use disorder (SUD). Cherokee Health Systems uses buprenorphine and naltrexone for MAT.

Cherokee Health Systems accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans that may include Beacon, ComPsych, Anthem, Wellmark, and Bright Health. Clients considering drug rehab programs should confirm coverage with their plan first, as out of network benefits may vary.
