About Cinnamon Hills Youth Crisis Center – St. George
Cinnamon Hills is a residential treatment program for youth who are 12 to 17 and have emotional or behavioral difficulties. This Center is located in Saint George, Utah next to Red Cliffs National Conservation Area. They are located on an urban campus right off I-100 and can be accessed via the Suntran Bus System. They are 109 miles north of Las Vegas and driveable from California, too.
Cinnamon Hills is accredited by the Joint Commission and is an accredited school. Their fees are dependent on services needed. They’ve been operating for more than 52 years.
Youth here are housed in semi-private rooms with their own en-suite bathroom. They are taught how to make their beds, clean their room, do their own laundry and stick to a routine. Morning wake up is at 7:00 a.m. and bedtime is 10:00 p.m. each evening.
Youth will live in a secure and highly structured setting with well-trained staff. They’ll get to take part in various educational and therapeutic activities. They also enjoy three nutritious meals every day.
Cinnamon Hills supports students in their academics. They work with kids who have an IEP and those who don’t.
The mental health services team gives youth therapy support. Together, they’ll identify problem behaviors and attitudes that are stopping them from succeeding in life. I like that this program focuses on helping students build inner strength, set and achieve goals, and plan for a bright future when they return home.
Students participate in weekly individual and family therapy. They join in group counseling three times a week as well. I like that they offer on-site family sessions to help parents prepare for reunification.
