About CIRCARE – Syracuse, New York
Circare is an addiction treatment center that helps patients in the Syracuse, New York, area who are struggling to quit drugs or alcohol. They offer outpatient services but can also meet you directly at your home or in a community area such as the library.
Their clinic doesn’t just treat drug and alcohol addictions, however. They are a dual diagnosis center, which means you can also receive services that target mental health issues as well. Many times, mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia can interfere with a person’s recovery and make it much harder to reach and sustain a sober life.
Outpatient care means you’ll be able to receive treatment and then return home to keep any commitments you have in your daily life. Some of the services you can expect at this clinic include rehab counseling, recovery-based activities, activities to improve social and interpersonal skills and overall training on ways to enhance self-awareness, self-advocacy, assertiveness and negotiation or problem-solving techniques.
You’ll also learn ways to enhance your personal care routines and hygiene. They’ll help you gain knowledge about public transportation so that you can do more in your life and will give you housekeeping and budgeting tips. They can coach you even after you’re sustaining sobriety and help you learn relapse-prevention techniques.
You’ll get time to explore your interests and talents so that you can apply that out in the real world. As they do all this, they will chart your progress to make sure you’re making good strides toward your goals. Syracuse offers lots of opportunities for sober recreation, including cultural sites like the Erie Canal Museum and places like Green Lakes State Park where you can engage in nature therapy.
