Established in 1971, this outpatient provider is the largest and oldest nonprofit in Rhode Island. They welcome adults and families battling addiction and mental health conditions. You’ll benefit from a supportive environment to reach your recovery goals with specialized approaches for your unique needs.

With outpatient care, you can live at home and tend to daily responsibilities while attending treatment. Their programs use a whole-person approach with proven, holistic treatment best practices.

You can participate in intensive and standard outpatient care with group and individual counseling and drug and alcohol testing. These approaches can help you change the behaviors contributing to addiction and hold you accountable throughout your journey. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid addiction and tailored programs are also available.

What stands out most to me are their health and wellness programs. They understand that reaching sobriety is just one piece of the puzzle. You can access yoga, therepuetic journaling, nutritional education, anger management and more to heal your mind, body, and spirit.

Of these features, Acu-detox really caught my eye. This form of acupuncture is an alternative to traditional withdrawal management approaches with medications. I think this is great because you’ll still have an option for a comfortable detox if you don’t want to include medications in your journey.

Another standout feature I noticed was their other addiction programs. You can participate in tobacco cessation and gambling addiction treatment programs. These addictions are often overlooked but they can be just as harmful as drugs and alcohol. You’ll benefit from compassionate care from specially trained clinicians. They even offer 100% funding for their gambling program if you’re uninsured or underinsured.
