Colonel Charles and JoAnne Powell VA clinic offers outpatient treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health disorders for veterans and their families. They’re located in San Angelo, Texas. This is an outpatient facility.

Treatment is provided for substance abuse as well as mental health conditions such as anxiety, trauma, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar, and schizophrenia. This facility offers medical care as well, if needed. They may have same day appointments available.

If you require detox services or a more intensive recovery service, you may be referred to another location or facility.

They use evidence-based treatments and provide health maintenance and community support. They set up a program with you to help you reach your goals.

They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) as needed for opioid use, alcohol use, and tobacco use. These medications are to help with your withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Residential rehabilitation treatment programs may be available as needed.

They also offer counseling services. They want to help your recovery along by addressing the root problem that made you turn to substances to begin with. They also assist you with homelessness and unemployment, if needed.

If you’re unable to attend therapy in person, they offer telehealth services and appointments.

Several clients have said that the staff is extremely friendly and always willing to help. It was noted that the doctors truly care about their patients and that they treat you as if you are their only patient while they are with you.
