Community Counseling Center

The Community Counseling Center, a San Mateo County Health Clinic in East Palo Alto, offers outpatient substance use treatment for adults and youth. Services include medication assisted treatment (MAT), referrals to specialty programs for youth transitioning to adults, foster youth, seniors, and mothers with young children, and aftercare support.

Outpatient services at the Community Counseling Center include individual and group counseling, substance use education, relapse prevention, MAT, life skills training, case management, and more. Approaches may include motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and other evidence based therapies.

Aftercare services provided by the Community Counseling Center may include vocational training, employment and housing support, connections to 12 step and other community recovery programs, and referrals to social services.

The Community Counseling Center accepts Medi-Cal, CareAdvantage, County ACE, and Healthworx insurance plans. They may refer clients to drug rehab services that accept private insurance, such as Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Bright Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. Because each insurance plan is different, be sure to verify coverage details and out of network care with the insurance company.
