The Assessment Center at Solterra Academy is located in New Britain, Connecticut. It used to be part of the Community Mental Health Affiliates network. They provide psychological evaluations for children and young adults. Referrals can be made individually, or by a third party such as a doctor or mental health professional. One thing that stands out to me about them is they work with most major insurance companies such as Cigna, Anthem, and United Behavioral Health.

They perform autism assessments that involve looking at behavior, development, assessing core features of Autism, reviewing medical records, and interviewing parents and/or caregivers. These evaluations help the treatment team get you connected to the right services such as special education and behavioral interventions.

They can complete violence and psychosexual risk assessments. These assessments are designed to determine the level of risk for these behaviors such as interviews with parents and the child, reviewing background information, and school records. By completing this type of assessment, it can help you develop interventions for your child to remain safe and successful as well as help get them connected to services.

They provide comprehensive psychological assessments that consist of cognitive, adaptive, behavioral, and personal dynamics to ensure appropriate connection to services and continuity of care. As your child gets older, they can also complete transitional evaluations. This’ll help as a child moves into young adulthood to help them maintain success or get connected with additional services if needed.
