They support men with a genuine desire to overcome substance dependence and live a productive and healthy lifestyle. Their program cuts across low-intensity residential care or halfway house and outpatient treatment. The Damascus House is located on a modern house along Ritchie Highway just south of Baltimore City in Brooklyn within Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The Damascus House diverse program ensures that clients will get the support they need to turn a new life free from drugs and alcohol. Their long-term residential care delivers intensive treatment to men in the early recovery stage.

This encompasses folks who have completed detox or high-intensity inpatient treatment and seek structured support to build independent living skills before rejoining the community. The facility offers a safe, conducive and structured space where clients can navigate recovery with expert guidance from staff who provide 24/7 support. You’ll attend daily 12-step meetings like AA and NA while on-site to help you build a robust support network. Structured routines such as therapy groups, one-on-one counseling and life skills training help you build healthy habits that support lasting recovery.

Exercise and wellness activities are also part of the program to promote overall wellbeing. The core attraction of this program is the sense of belonging that clients enjoy from living in a communal space with peers going through the same thing.

Peers support and encourage each other and celebrate wins and losses together while holding each other accountable as necessary. The length of stay is between three and six months depending on how fast you fulfill your personalized recovery goals. Most clients continue to receive support via the outpatient program provided by Damascus House.

They offer both intensive outpatient care (IOP) and general outpatient services (OP). Both programs enable you to attend sessions from home while maintaining your work and family responsibilities. IOP is relatively more intense, involving nine hours of weekly therapy groups alongside individual sessions that last about 12 weeks. It is also ideal for clients seeking structured support other than residential care. OP is a step-down option involving about one-hour sessions weekly for 26 weeks.

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
