Destinations’s Cheney House focussed on saving teens and reconnecting families by eliminating addiction through holistic and experiential treatment techniques. It was located in Topanga, California. Teens enrolled once expected to achieve sustainable well being through comprehensive educational services and drug and alcohol treatment in a residential setting. However, they are now closed.

If you were enrolled at this center or your child was, they would have stayed in a room paired with someone in the same boat. This pairing allowed for one-on-one interactions, which was hugely beneficial to the recovery of substance abuse addictions and or mental health co-occurring conditions.

Many parents loved that this center provided teens with special dietary accommodations surrounding vegan and kosher dietary restrictions. The healthy snacks and recreation room were also appealing. As far as treatment for addiction is concerned, teens underwent psychosocial and substance abuse assessments, psychiatric assessments, maintenance and support, and individualized treatment planning.

Parent education sessions were also available to help you learn how to support your child’s recovery journey. Even though this center is closed, Destinations has other recovery homes for teens in nearby Woodland Hills.
