Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health – Pennsylvania Adult Services

Devereux Pennsylvania Adult Services, located in Berwyn, Pennsylvania is part of Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health, one of the country’s largest nonprofit behavioral healthcare providers. They offer a range of services for adults aged 18 and older living with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
To access treatment, clients may use Pennsylvania Medicaid Waivers if they qualify for Social Security, SSDI, or SSI. The Admissions Office is available to guide families through the funding and eligibility process and to discuss private funding options.

Clients live in one of the community homes or apartments located throughout Chester County. Living in Berwyn adds an extra layer of opportunity, with easy access to local activities or Philadelphia’s cultural and recreational options.
Dedicated staff provide 24/7 care, making sure residents get help with health services, transportation, and assistance with managing daily responsibilities. Clients have access to psychologists, nurses, dieticians, and social workers, along with opportunities for personal growth through art, music, therapeutic swimming, and gym programs.

The goal is to help each client build the skills for independent living. The Shops at Devereux offers vocational training in real-world settings, providing opportunities to learn job skills, earn competitive pay, and receive ongoing career support.

Through the Community-Supported Employment (CSE) program, clients work in community-based positions with the help of job coaches. Partnerships with local businesses help residents build skills and work towards independence at their own pace.

While Devereux’s residential services don’t provide direct addiction treatment, they partner with TCV Community Services. The Alternatives program provides personalized, recovery focused treatment in outpatient and intensive outpatient settings.

Pregnant women, women with children, people who use IV drugs and individuals dealing with the legal system take priority. Besides addiction treatment, TCV helps clients with dual diagnoses. Clients can either refer themselves for treatment, or staff from Devereux can provide referrals.

Devereux Pennsylvania Adult Services offers a supportive environment where adults can work toward independence, with the added benefit of referrals to addiction treatment services when needed.
