About Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service – Outpatient – Scranton
Based in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service (DATS) is one of Lackawanna County’s leading outpatient drug and alcohol treatment facilities. As a private and nonprofit organization, they’re fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug & Alcohol Programs (DDAP). Support is available to teens and adults of all genders. In terms of payment, their services are covered by most private insurance providers. Private payments can be made on a sliding fee scale.
This center recognizes addiction and substance use disorders (SUD) as chronic and progressive conditions, that can be terminal if left untreated. As such, they offer a range of addiction treatment services, integrating a traditional and innovative approach to help individuals and families overcome their substance abuse issues.
Both outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are provided here. In person and telehealth options are available, making this an ideal choice for anyone who may struggle to make regular in-person appointments.
IOP consists of a minimum of nine hours of therapeutic services per week including individual, group, and family therapy sessions as needed. As part of this, each participant will receive a personalized treatment plan to see them through their recovery. Similarly, standard outpatient requires regular weekly meetings and sessions, but for a maximum of eight hours per week. Both programs are ideal for individuals looking for flexible treatment options as they can be carried out alongside regular work, study, or parenting schedules.
Targeted, age appropriate programming for teens is also available. This includes the same treatment methods as standard outpatient and IOP but with a further emphasis placed on working through any underlying issues that may have led to the addiction. From here, the team focuses on helping participants develop healthier behavioral patterns. Onsite school assessments are also available.
Clients can also access case management services as well as support for concurrent disorders, employee assistance, referrals for medication assisted treatment (MAT) and other services and criminal justice programming.
