About Encompass Community Supports – Boxwood Treatment Center – Culpeper
Boxwood Treatment Center is a short term residential treatment facility for adults with moderate to severe substance use issues in Culpeper, Virginia. Residents of Central Shenandoah, Lord Fairfax and Rappahannock Counties can also benefit from this program. Folks from Thomas Jefferson, Madison and Prince William counties can benefit as well. Referrals are also welcome from other counties throughout Virginia through their Community Service Boards (CSBs).
The program is part of Encompass Community Supports, which was formerly known as the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board. They seek to improve the quality of life of adults struggling with substance misuse. The program accepts dually diagnosed with substance misuse and mental health issues. Services are also available for pregnant females, IV drug users and folks diagnosed with HIV/Aids. These individuals are given priority treatment.
You must be assessed by your local CSBs before requesting care. Upon arrival at Boxwood, you’ll also be appropriately screened through Encompass Community Support. The center boasts a modern residential facility in a rural setting that is calm and distraction-free.
It is located near US Route 29. This makes it easy to access from nearby cities like Charlottesville and Washington DC while still maintaining a secluded feel. Natural attractions like the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park are pretty close. These offer opportunities for outdoor activities.
Treatment in this facility is individualized and self-directed. Various treatment strategies are used to help you get well and stay well. Primarily this includes group and individual counseling that focuses on building coping skills that support a sober lifestyle and relapse prevention. You’ll also attend educational multimedia classes, presentations and lectures on substance use. This helps you understand the impact of substance use and develop strategies for making healthier choices.
They may offer a family program as well. Involving family in the recovery process helps strengthen your support network. The program also includes a full range of lab work, Tuberculosis testing, discharge planning and referrals. The lab work checks for health issues related to substance use like liver function, infectious diseases or nutrient deficiencies. It ensures you receive appropriate care during treatment.
The program lasts for 28 days. However, they can adjust the length of stay based on individual needs if requested by CSBs. The program fees are determined by the referring CSB. You may even qualify for assistance. Boxwood accepts Medicaid insurance only.
