Group therapy is a peer support group made up of other individuals who are also battling addiction. Under the facilitation of a trained counselor, the group will witness each other’s stories and build a sober support network. Learning segments such as identifying triggers and coping skills may also be part of group therapy.
Each individual’s path to addiction is unique. Individual counseling for substance abuse focuses on identifying the underlying causes that led to substance abuse. The compassionate and knowledgeable counselors at Family Services Agency may use various treatment modalties to help each client heal and achieve long-term sobriety. Counselors may refer clients to more intensive drug rehab programs when needed.
They also offer a drug and alcohol safety education program for those who have had a DUI charge.. These are 3 or 4-week long classes, available via Zoom.
