Frontier Health – Holston Counseling Center is a provider of behavioral health services in Kingsport, Tennessee. In addition to these treatment services, a case manager is available to help clients access home based and community based resources that can support a client’s treatment goals. Holston Counseling Center treats patients through outpatient services. Clients will typically have to meet at the center multiple times a week to participate in individual therapy sessions and group counseling. In group counseling, patients may learn about related topics such as relapse prevention and gain insight and support from their peers. In individual therapy, counselors will help clients through therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational therapy. These approaches can help patients better understand the cause of their addiction, increase their motivation to change and develop coping skills to avoid using substances.

One of the things I like most about Holston Counseling Center is its specialized departments for older adults and for mothers and children. The Bridging the Gap/Older Adults Project focuses on the mental health needs of older adults, providing education on substance use and mental health issues. Older adults will receive psychiatric consultation and case management services. The Mother Child Connection program provides recovery oriented services tailored to women 18 years or older who are pregnant and have dependent children. The program provides relapse education, therapy and follow up services.
