About Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation – Chicago
Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation – Chicago is an outpatient mental health and substance use disorder treatment treatment center. They’re located across from Washington Square Park in Chicago, Illinois. They offer intensive outpatient support and have a day treatment option for those who need higher levels of support. Day treatment is sometimes called a partial hospitalization program (PHP).
As well as treatment for addiction, they also offer mental health counseling and family counseling. These services are often helpful for people experiencing addiction, because they help you heal in multiple areas of your life. If you’re living with a dual diagnosis, Hazelden Betty Ford provides integrated treatment for substance use and mental health disorders.
Day treatment involves meeting four or five days a week for up to six hours a day. During this time, you’ll attend individual and group counseling with a trained addiction professional. These sessions incorporate common addiction methodologies, like the 12 Step program. You’ll also attend educational sessions to learn things like coping mechanisms and how substances affect your body. The length of your program depends on how quickly you respond to treatment.
They have a few different intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for specific groups. They have groups for male identifying people, female identifying people, anyone experiencing opioid addiction and anyone part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Past patients enjoyed the fact that the center offered SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma methods as well as the 12 Step model. The views on the administrative side of things are mixed. Some people found the enrollment process to be disorganized and slow, while others expressed gratitude at the flexibility and quick solutions provided to them.
