This is designed to help you have a different physical response to the memory of traumatic events.

They also treat clients with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). These types of therapy will teach you how to think differently in order to make better decisions. They offer coping mechanisms for dealing with high stress situations.

The doctor may use motivational interviewing (MI) as well. In this type of therapy, they will ask you questions designed to help you find your own motivation to change.
