About Highland Rivers Health – Jasper
Highland Rivers Behavioral Health is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment facility serving adults in Jasper, Georgia. They are one of the largest behavioral health centers in the state and provide a wide range of behavioral health and addiction services. They are a clinical setting with modern amenities.
Highland Rivers is a social safety net for low income individuals and military veterans. They also work with those who don’t have insurance on a sliding fee basis.
The outpatient services offered by Highland Rivers allow clients to visit the hospital on a regular schedule to receive personalized treatment that fits their needs. Clients continue living at home while in the program. Treatment follows SAMHSA’s 10 Guiding Principles of Recovery as the basis of care.
The ultimate goal of outpatient care is to help clients recognize where their addictive behaviors come from and teach them coping skills that help them manage symptoms. The central area of focus is identifying and changing negative thought patterns that lead to destructive behaviors. Therapy and education services are provided in individual, group, and family settings.
Highland Rivers provides space for clients to meet and help one another in a private, supportive environment. Structured activities are available to groups that promote continued development and ongoing recovery.
The facility operates two residential recovery houses for clients in recovery who want additional support before returning to their daily lives. Recovery housing gives those coming from or returning to unstable backgrounds additional support during the early stages of post treatment recovery. The support staff is available 24 hours a day onsite for residents.
Eligible clients can stay for up to six months, during which they must attend support groups and therapeutic programs. Clients also receive ongoing life skills training and transportation to medical services as needed. Recovery housing is available for both men and women.
