About Hope Center Ministries – McEwen
Hope Center Ministries is a Christian ministry devoted to helping those with substance use disorder. They have a three phase program that lasts one year. The program is offered in many states, including the one on Mount Zion Road in Mcewen, Tennessee. The program is for individuals but there is also family support that includes classes, coursework, and visitation opportunities.
The program has a $700 admissions fee. If you can’t afford the fee, they may have a donor who can contribute toward your fees.
Phase 1 of the program is four weeks, intensive and introduces you to many aspects of the program. You’ll learn about the 12 step model of recovery. There are daily reflections, devotions, and Bible studies. You’ll have time to work on your spiritual development as you work through the program curriculum. There is individual and group counseling offered by lay counselors. Residents have daily chores.
One of the core values of the program encourages clients to have fun, laugh hard, and expect adventure. In that spirit, recreation and extracurricular activities are part of the program. They have weekend retreats to the mountains, lakes and beaches. They do a Saturday Fun Day that includes opportunities to play paintball, skydive, go to the lake, and more. They have weekly opportunities for exercise at the gym.
There’s a local community church that sponsors the program. They provide small group opportunities, weekend services, and pastoral care.
As you move into phase 2 of the program, you’ll continue with all aspects of phase 1. Additionally, you’ll start a 40 hour per week vocational training program. This teaches residents responsibility while learning valuable life skills. During the program, you’ll build a rapport with the training providers that can lead to good references for future work. Phase 2 lasts 40 weeks.
Phase 3 of the program is eight weeks. In this last phase, you’ll have more privileges and get closer to life after graduation. You’ll have personal phone and vehicle privileges. You’ll learn how to be a good financial steward of your resources while earning an income for life beyond the program.
