Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a private nonprofit hospital that offers a full array of healthcare services. The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center.

They have a 24/7 emergency room and trauma service. Additionally, the Advanced Center for Psychotherapy at the hospital offers clients mental health treatment and limited substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The hospital is on the Van Wyck Expressway in Richmond Hill, New York in Queens. They accept insurance from many major providers as well as Medicare and Medicaid.

Only 14 miles from Manhattan in New York City, Jamaica Hospital offers comprehensive counseling services through the Advanced Center for Psychotherapy (ACP). The therapists at the center are board certified or board eligible.

The ACP is affiliated with the New York State Board of Regents which charters the ACP. The staff includes social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Therapists at the center provide individual and group psychotherapy. Additionally, they provide medications and medication monitoring and management for mental health medications.

Beyond counseling, staff at the ACP has group programs to improve your parenting and socialization skills. Additionally, they have groups for smoking cessation. If you’ve experienced serious trauma or grief from loss, you’ll be able to get the help you need to begin your recovery.

The hospital has extensive language assistance services, including assistance for people who are hard of hearing, deaf, visually impaired, and blind. They have assistance for clients in multiple languages too including Spanish, Chinese, Haitian, Korean, Polish, Punjabi, and more.

One of the more unique programs is the Russian Family Program. The program is run from the Forest Hills location and offers comprehensive services for clients who speak Russian.

The staff at the ACP counsels clients in recovery from substance use who desire sobriety, better relationships, and to get their careers back on track. However, for more intensive SUD services, you can get a referral to one of two convenient locations, one in Forest Hills, and one in Jamaica Estates.
