About John Brooks Recovery Center – Atlantic City
The Atlantic City, New Jersey location of the John Brooks Recovery Center offers outpatient substance use disorder treatments for adults. They provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient (OP) programs. They also offer a gambling treatment program and an Atlantic county jail inmate re-entry project.
MAT is an evidence-based long-term approach to alcohol or opioid use treatment. Clients will receive daily treatment with FDA-approved medications such as methadone or suboxone as well as weekly counseling sessions. As clients progress in their recovery, the frequency of their treatment sessions will decrease based on the assessments of the clinical and medical staff.
The IOP at this facility combines individual, group and education sessions to help clients meet their recovery goals. Clients will attend 3-hour long sessions at a time. These sessions can be a combination of didactic classroom workshops, individual therapy or group counseling sessions.
The OP offers the same treatment modalities as IOP but with less treatment hours per week. This program is designed for those who only need minimal support to progress towards recovery.
The program for inmates offers motivational counseling and referrals for inmates to help reduce the chances of them reoffending.
