KPEP stands for the Kalamazoo Probation Enhancement Program. The KPEP – Chicago Avenue location is in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Here, you can find residential treatment services to help you overcome your condition and become a productive member of society.

Both men and women can participate in residential care. At this facility, they offer counseling services, life skills training, career counseling, and recovery focused education. While you’re in the program, they’ll also expect you to find a job and spend at least 60 hours each week in some kind of structured activity. You’ll meet regularly with your case manager to discuss your progress, adjust your plan, and look ahead to the future.

Something I thought was neat about this facility is that they’ll help you prepare and test for your GED so you’ll have an edge on the job market and you won’t have to fall behind on your studies. Most people stay in the program for about 90 to 150 days, but you might be there longer as you work on your recovery goals.

People who have been in this program explain that the staff members aren’t as communicative and forthcoming as they could be, and also raise concerns about their professionalism. However, another former participant says the program works as long as you’re willing to put in the time and effort.
