Lava Heights Academy

About Lava Heights Academy – Toquerville, Utah

Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah helps teens work through tough challenges by mixing therapy with creative activities like art, music and dance. Instead of just talking through problems in a regular therapy setting they encourage students to express themselves in different ways which can make healing feel more natural and less stressful. They help with drug and alcohol addictions as well as mental health conditions.

Their team includes therapists, nurses and counselors who work closely with each student and their family. They help teens rebuild relationships, learn better ways to handle emotions and recover from past trauma. The type of therapy includes one on one sessions, family meetings and group discussions that focus on making healthy choices and feeling more in control of life.

What stands out to me is how much they focus on creativity. It can be a common thing that students struggle to talk about their feelings but they can express themselves through painting, acting or playing music and still get things out that way. The school believes that by using creativity, students can work through tough emotions and build confidence in a way that feels natural.

Another important part of the program is education. Students can catch up on schoolwork, prepare for college or even get ready for important tests like the SAT and ACT. The goal is to help them regain a love for learning and set them up for a strong future.

This clinic isn’t just about therapy. It is a place where students can rediscover who they are, gain new skills and build confidence in themselves.
