In 2018, The Lexington VA Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky, was renamed as the Troy Bowling Campus, after a former vet. Today, this campus offers comprehensive healthcare services to veterans and their families. This campus is equipped to help you work through struggles with substance use as well.
The Troy Bowling Campus offers both inpatient and outpatient services. There are accessible care options here as well including transportation to help you to your appointments and travel reimbursement cost.

While their behavioral healthcare services primarily focus on mental health struggles including PTSD, mood disorders and other complex struggles, they also offer counseling and treatment services for co-occurring substance use struggles.
You work with mental health professionals including addiction counselors that provide trauma informed, evidence driven care. Their addiction services can support you through all stages of recovery whether it’s through an initial stabilization, medication management or ongoing support.
The Troy Bowling Campus offers an array of specialized services to help bolster your recovery. For example, there’s a social worker on site that you can work with who will connect you to different treatment services in your community. This might include local 12 Step programs, helping you secure safe housing and even accessibility to free or low-cost food.
They also address the struggles of homeless vets, members of the LGBTQ community and minorities. You’ll find the care team here is made up of former vets and medical professionals who have vets in their family. With this supportive care, you’ll find the treatment team here understands the unique struggles you’re working through, and they’ll help you stay the course of your recovery plan while connecting you to different community services that will support you.
