Manchester VA Medical Center offers comprehensive mental and behavioral health care for military personnel, veterans, and families in Manchester, New Hampshire, including telehealth care, medically supervised detox, and inpatient, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), general outpatient (OP), and aftercare programming. Dedicated services are available for adolescents, young adults, seniors, homeless and indigent persons, LGBTQ+ persons, and persons with co-occurring disorders. They are accredited by The Joint Commission and SAMHSA.

Treatment at Manchester VA Medical Center includes a comprehensive medical and mental health assessment, drug and alcohol screenings, personalized care planning, and complete case management.

Clients in inpatient care receive round-the-clock medical supervision and the highest levels of structure and support. Those undergoing detox may be prescribed FDA-approved medications to ease withdrawal symptoms and prevent complications. Clients also engage in intensive individual, group, and family counseling drawing on proven modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET). The program promotes clients’ sustained sobriety and successful community reintegration through robust, recovery-focused life skills training addressing topics such as coping, self-care, and relapse prevention. An array of evidence-based complementary therapies, including eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and expressive and creative arts, is available.

Their outpatient programs encompass multiple levels of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs. Aftercare support may include step-down assistance, 12 step program facilitation, sober living transitions, and referrals for additional services.
