About McCall Center for Behavioral Health – McCall House – Torrington
McCall Behavioral Health Network is a nonprofit organization providing a continuum of CARF-accredited behavioral health services to promote wellness. The organization has been serving the residents of Connecticut for more than 50 years. They have many programs and locations, including the McCall House in Torrington, Connecticut.
The McCall House is home to an intermediate residential treatment program for clients with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health disorders who are in recovery. You can use your Husky Health/Medicaid or private insurance to pay for services.
The network has three intermediate residential treatment facilities in the Torrington area, including the McCall House. The house is about an hour north of New Haven. Torrington is the birthplace of famous abolitionist John Brown. The Torrington Downtown Historic District is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon strolling and window shopping.
The program at McCall House is for men and women ages 18 and older, and the house holds 13 people. The staff is onsite around the clock, and they create a nurturing and supportive environment for clients.
Residents at the house experience a comprehensive program aimed at full recovery and independent living. Most clients stay here for three to four months. The staff addresses stressors and issues that arise in the community when clients are outside of the structured, supported environment.
There are five hours of daily clinical support with a focus on the tools and strategies necessary to maintain sobriety when fully integrated back into the community. The treatment team is supportive and empathetic and instills a daily healthy routine in the clients that’s conducive to long term recovery.
The nice thing about this network is the number of services they offer. In addition to treatment and recovery services, the network has child and adolescent, family, and community outreach and prevention services.
