About Myrover Reese – Pat Reese Home – Fayetteville
Myrover Reese – Pat Reese Home is part of Myrover Reese Fellowship Homes which have been helping people recover from drugs, alcohol and co-occurring mental health conditions for over 50 years. They are located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Their nonprofit organization was founded by Jimmy Myrover and Pat Reese back in 1961. It opened as the state’s first halfway house for recovering alcoholics, and they say they’re driven by “a lot of love and faith.” Now, they operate three halfway houses, which include the Pat Reese Home, Ashton Lily Home and the Myrover-Reese Fellowship Home, which all provide a safe environment for individuals to recover.
They offer county programs that are either 30 days or 180 days long, and they’re funded through Alliance Behavioral Health. The residents who take part in this program participate in outpatient treatment, aftercare and 12 Step programs. As this is taking place, they also help by connecting you to mental health providers, housing agencies and primary care. Their referrals come from various sources such as detox centers, treatment providers, courts and alumni.
Their homes feature a friendship hall, nature trails, a greenhouse, and a woodworking shop. These amenities give you a lot to keep busy with while you recover and offer therapeutic activities that can complement your treatment. They also have onsite and community AA/NA meetings.
Another part of this organization that I admire is their commitment to the veteran community. They have specialized programs for veterans that provide case management, outpatient treatment, and access to services like medical care, education, employment and independent housing. They help with legal needs, housing and even furnishing needs.
