New Hanover Metro Treatment Center is an opioid addiction treatment center that’s located in Wilmington, North Carolina. They have a team of addiction professionals who will work with you to create a custom treatment plan for your needs. Medication Assisted Treatment, counseling, and medical exams are some of the services that are provided at a low fee.
The facility chooses to use medication assisted treatment for addiction recovery because they believe it’s the most effective treatment program. It’s designed to address the psychological and physiological components of your addictions. Staff members can use the approach to treat addictions to substances such as fentanyl, hydrocodone and codeine. You’ll receive your treatment while continuing to go to school, work, or tend to family obligations.
You’ll receive clinically approved medications such as methadone, Buprenorphine, or Suboxone. While methadone may be ideal for patients with higher levels of physical dependency, all three medications are effective at reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
Along with medication, you’ll receive addiction counseling as a part of your medication assisted treatment. Your counselor will teach you about the effects of substances on your brain and your behaviors. Through either individual, group, or family counseling, you’ll develop your coping skills, understand your triggers, and establish a plan that will help you overcome your addiction.
One unique thing I noticed about the New Hanover Metro Treatment Center is they are a NARCAN® distribution site. NARCAN® Nasal Spray is used to immediately treat a known or suspected opioid overdose. The facility offers a confidential educational program on the medication and provides it to all individuals.
The town of Wilmington is right near the coast of North Carolina. In addition to water activities such as swimming or surfing, you can spend time visiting the Bellamy Mansion Museum or enjoying nature at Airlie Gardens.
