North Central Mental Health Services – North High Street

North Central Mental Health Services is in Columbus, Ohio. The center is affiliated with the Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Board of Franklin County. The facility on North High Street is a community-based mental health and recovery agency that offers comprehensive services to all age groups. The recovery support services include treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.

North Central has been providing treatment for mental health and addiction disorders since 1973. They offer several programs. The recovery support services treat adults 18-60 who have persistent and severe mental illness and/or SUD.

The treatment teams help clients reduce mental health symptoms while enhancing their quality of life and restoring or improving their overall function. The goal is to maximize a client’s level of function while helping them achieve their highest potential.

The dual diagnosis program includes the Soaring Sober program. This is a day treatment service providing treatment five days per week. The program emphasizes abstinence from all substances as a crucial recovery tool. Since everyone’s dual diagnosis is unique, the program assists clients with maintaining stabilization based on their addiction and mental health disorders.

The elder focus program is for seniors experiencing challenges with everyday life. Seniors can participate in individual and family counseling and may even receive counseling in the home if they’re unable to get to the clinic.

Additionally, the program helps seniors with substance use issues, including prescription medication misuse. Services include case management, peer assistance, and individual counseling.
