Oasis Counseling International in Norfolk, Nebraska, is an organization that offers substance abuse treatment and mental health therapy. This location is unique in that it also offers Christian based counseling. Their goal is to give all of their clients a safe place for them to begin psychological and spiritual healing. Along with therapy and addiction treatment, clients can also receive medication management, mentoring and in-home family support. Oasis Counseling International offers a variety of outpatient services to treat drug and alcohol addiction. These services include outpatient individual treatment, an intensive outpatient program (IOP), drug and alcohol evaluations and aftercare.
The intensive outpatient program is for individuals who require a higher level of care than those who participate in the outpatient individual program. IOP clients meet at the facility 10 hours a week for a duration of 12 weeks. The topics that are discussed in the group sessions are relapse prevention, coping strategies and substance abuse education. Clients can expect the group sizes to be small. The outpatient individual program is administered to individuals with a substance abuse issue that staff members have concluded is best addressed in a one on one setting.
The evidence based practices that Oasis Counseling International uses to treat patients include motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. Motivational interviewing is used to help patients find the motivation to change their behavior. Cognitive behavioral therapy is used to help clients recognize their addiction triggers and use coping skills to avoid substance use.
Oasis Counseling International accepts most insurance plans for payment and can also provide discounts based on income and family size. Other forms of funding assistance may also be available for qualifying individuals.
