Oceanside VA Clinic is an addiction treatment clinic for veterans and their families who are living in the Oceanside, California, area. This includes veterans of all ages who may be struggling with their drug or alcohol addictions. It also includes dual diagnosis cases, meaning people who also have co-occurring mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or PTSD.

It’s an unfortunate reality that many veterans struggle with trauma due to their time in the military. Some of these veterans may also benefit from medication assisted treatment (MAT). With medications such as Vivitrol and Suboxone, veterans can hope to detox from drug and alcohol misuse by reducing their withdrawal symptoms, lessening the intensity of their cravings, and making the recovery process easier overall.

These veteran clinics also may offer health maintenance, community support, services for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women’s services. These services may include hormone therapy, military sexual abuse therapy, and maternity care.

Keep in mind that this is an outpatient clinic, and thus they only offer services that don’t require round-the-clock care. Many other inpatient clinics are in the area, but you’ll need to be referred to these clinics separately.

As far as counseling is concerned, they offer individual therapy, group therapy, and marriage or relationship counseling. They also offer courses for anger management. These counseling services can help you learn coping strategies, deal with any trauma from your past in a healthy and effective way, and identify any types of triggers that may be hindering you from the sober life you strive for.
