Before you begin your recovery journey, the staff will conduct a physical and mental health evaluation upon your admission. If it’s determined to be necessary, the staff is prepared to provide assistance through medication assisted treatment (MAT). The substances they can treat addictions to include meth, opioids and cocaine.

Along with medication you’ll participate in mental health counseling to address any emotional issues that have contributed to your addiction. The staff also has experience treating various mental health disorders that typically occur alongside substance use disorders, such as anxiety and mood disorders.

When a client has some control over their addiction, the staff may also add psychiatric medication to a client’s treatment plan to help manage a mental health condition. One thing that stood out to me about Orlando Outpatient Center’s services is they also can assist individuals who have co-occurring substance use and eating disorders.

In individual or group therapy, your counselor can use evidence based therapies to support your recovery. You may engage in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) These approaches can guide you toward healing any trauma that may have contributed to your addiction.
