About Palmetto Summerville – Behavioral Health – North Charleston
Palmetto Summerville – Behavioral Health is a residential treatment center for youth ages 7 to 21 who are struggling with behavioral health issues. That includes kids and teens who have drug and alcohol addiction. The facility’s program has relocated from Summerville, South Carolina, to North Charleston, South Carolina.
This program is an inpatient treatment for kids and teenagers who are having severe behavioral health issues and need the structure and 24 hour support of a residential program. There are separate programs for boys and girls.
It’s important to note that while your child’s treatment will be tailored to them, this facility doesn’t specialize in addiction. They use a multi phase behavioral modification system, and they help with a wide range of behavioral health issues. So this could be the right fit if your child’s drug and alcohol use is one factor in a severe overall behavioral issue.
This facility takes a trauma informed care approach to treatment. They use evidence based therapies like dialectical behavior therapy in the course of group therapy and individual therapy. They also have an educational component, so your child won’t fall behind in their academic work. That’s important because this inpatient program could be anywhere from two weeks to six months long.
