About Park Slope Center for Mental Health – Park Slope
Park Slope Center For Mental Health is an accredited New York State Office of Mental Health facility that provides behavioral health services to adults, children and families in the Brooklyn, New York area. The facility helps provide treatment and relief for patients experiencing emotional, physical and behavioral struggles. They accept Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance plans. If you don’t have insurance or the clinic is out of network for you, they accept self pay at reasonable rates.
This facility offers psychiatric evaluations, initial assessments, medication management and caregiver guidance. Clients also engage in individual, group and family therapy. Both short and long term treatment plans are available.
When this facility opened in 1983 they served seniors. Over the years, the staff slowly expanded and began addressing the needs of the entire family. Today this clinic focuses on the entire family unit when a child comes in for assistance. Park Slope staff want to work with the whole family to identify how to help everyone live and thrive together rather than working on one individual’s problems in isolation.
One thing that stands out about this clinic is the reviews from former patients that consistently bring up the staff’s positive attitudes and genuine desire to help. Past clients have said they received “amazing care,” from a “fantastic team of professionals.” Clients have said they had a “great experience,” and that the “therapists are all wonderful and caring.” Overcoming mental and behavioral challenges is often a lifelong journey, so having a recovery team that genuinely cares is a significant advantage throughout the healing process.
