About Peter Young – Schenectady
Peter Young Housing Industries and Treatment The Monastery is located in Schenectady, New York. This location is a designated Code Blue Men’s Shelter. It’s equipped with 36 housing units, 14 SRO units and some contracted COVID beds. They provide housing and help for the homeless and ex-prisoners.
They strive to help disenfranchised people who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues and or poverty find employment and gain independence.
They get referrals through the Department of Social Services and they provide food, shelter and counseling to their patients. They also have job assessment, training and placement programs along with help with mental health and other social services for its residents.
The Schenectady Municipal Golf Course isn’t far from here and would make for excellent sober recreation.
