About Piedmont Rescue Mission – Burlington
Piedmont Rescue Mission in Burlington, North Carolina is a Christian based organization that that has two programs that can help those struggling with addiction. There’s a program for pregnant women and a men’s program.
The women’s program accepts all expectant mothers and includes parenting classes, pregnancy option information, infant and childcare classes and connections to resources that supply maternity and baby needs. There’s also a graduate program which provides support through the first year of motherhood.
The residential ministry program provides temporary housing and a family atmosphere for disadvantaged and homeless men, including those with addiction issues. The first 30 days helps them get settled and provides spiritual support. Then the men look for work and housing and move toward independence.
The men are expected to give service to others and to make a weekly contribution of $55. In order to help clients focus on their sobriety and their future, there are restrictions on technology and cellphone communication. Phone calls are kept under 10 minutes and the men give their cell phones to staff upon entry into the program. However they can earn the cell phones back over time.
Bible study and spiritual guidance are an important part of the recovery program here and will be integrated into daily life. This includes rules concerning language, clothing, conduct, and music or other media.
The day starts at 5:00 am on weekdays and 6:30 am on weekends. Piedmont Rescue Mission is a not for profit Christian faith organization.
