About Port Health Services – Winterville
Port Health Services provides outpatient services to adults aged 18 and older. The clinic was part of Easterseals Port Health, a nonprofit community healthcare service. Easterseals Port Health’s mission is to help folks of all ages with disabilities and mental health challenges, including substance misuse. They had a clinic in Winterville, North Carolina. However, that site is currently closed.
Before the Winterville location closed, they offered assessments, individual therapy, and group sessions. Their outpatient program also included medication assisted treatment (MAT), which gave clients experiencing issues with opioid use disorders access to methadone and buprenorphine.
Easterseals has a long history of serving communities in North Carolina. It all started in 1934 when the organization launched its first fundraising campaign. Today, Easterseals Port Health is part of a nationwide network of over 70 Easterseals affiliates.
When they added substance use treatment in January 2023, it gave people in North Carolina access to an even broader range of holistic healthcare services. Holistic healthcare is important because it supports the whole person. Port Health Services focuses on physical, mental, and emotional health to promote lasting recovery.
The Winterville location, like other Port Health Services sites, accepted Medicaid, Medicare, and a variety of insurance plans. Lack of insurance was not an issue because they offered a sliding scale fee as well.
While the Winterville clinic may be closed, individuals and families experiencing issues with substance use can still get help at one of Port Health Services’ other locations in the Greenville metropolitan area.
