Progress Valley – Recovery Center for Men has been a beacon of hope for individuals seeking recovery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for over 50 years. Their treatment addresses both substance use and mental health disorders to offer a continuum of care tailored to individual needs.
Progress Valley offers a 48 bed residential program. This program provides a safe and structured environment where individuals can focus on recovery. The services offered include individualized treatment planning, therapy, psychoeducation, peer recovery support, medical services with medication management, family services and health and wellness workshops. They also provide vocational services and treatment coordination with community referrals.
The center’s outpatient programs are designed to accommodate different levels of need which offers flexibility for clients. Their continuum of care ranges from intensive outpatient programs (IOP) with lodging to standard outpatient services. The IOP with lodging is particularly beneficial for those requiring a structured environment but not full residential care. Clients typically stay from 60 to 90 days. While there clients engage in therapy sessions, attend community support meetings and practice recovery skills. When they finish the program clients receive assistance from counselors to transition to Progress Valley’s Housing Program or other stable living arrangements while continuing outpatient services with decreasing frequency.
Recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and substance use disorders, the center has expanded its services to include a mental health clinic in Bloomington. Here clients can access outpatient therapy and counseling to address various emotional and psychological challenges. The clinic’s multidisciplinary team is committed to providing personalized care to improve overall well being and quality of life.
