About Pueblo Y Salud – Palmdale
Pueblo y Salud is a prevention based substance use treatment center in Palmdale, California. This clinic aims to address and lower the rate of substance abuse disorder (SUD) issues in their community and give youth aged 12 to 26 a chance to break this cycle in their social circle. They only offer outpatient treatment as their level of care.
The program meets in person and virtually twice a month on Thursdays. It isn’t a very intensive program and allows clients to attend work and school while they’re in treatment. It’s meant more to prevent addiction before it even starts. It’s a good program to give your child a solid foundation.
Their outpatient program provides many different services to help your child educate themselves about substance abuse. Their sessions provide coaching and skills training. They’ll also teach clients about decision making skills and communication skills. You’ll participate in courses that teach you about media influences and how the media tries to manipulate young minds to become addicted to drugs and alcohol.
Something else I like about this facility is that they have a program called Guiding Good Choices. This gives parents, grandparents, and caregivers can attend this program to learn how they can help the young people in their lives develop healthy habits and reduce dangerous behavior. This program explains some of the challenges that clients in this population might face and how their loved ones can help them stay on track.
They also have anger management classes and classes on coping with anxiety. You can take classes on social skills, assertiveness, conflict resolution and how to resist peer pressure.
